Exhibition
Päivä pitenee (Days get longer)
26 April – 30 April 2023
Galleria Longa
Collaboration with Inari Virmakoski, Tuuli Malla & Mari Mäkiö
Days get longer is an exhibition by Inari Virmakoski, Tuuli Malla, Mari Mäkiö and Yukina Yamamoto. It includes two video works, Japanese calligraphy and movement texts.
Originally the idea was that the works have been created during the darkest months of the year near the sea, far from the city – at Mynämäki and on Örö island. Inari Virmakoski’s work was changed along the way. Surprises are a part of life. Now days are much longer and the works are brought together in Kalasatama. Doing together and sharing temporal continuity are important for us. We are working towards the light.
As part of the exhibition program there will be a performance and coffee / tea afternoon at 14-16 o’clock on Saturday 29 April. Performers are Jaakko Kuikka, Kati Raatikainen, Tuuli Malla and Inari Virmakoski.
